My first recent attempt at realism. A friend of mine, Abi, drawn from a photo. Please give me pointers and advice as I really want to improve in this field. More friends to come.
Drawn in HB and 4B in about 3 and a half hours. Scanned with a scanner that killed the quality.

Its a little hard for me to crit since I don't know what this person actually looks like/haven't seen the photo, but I'll give it a go.
First off, I'd like to say that its good to see you trying this out.
Looking at it, I think her eyes might be a bit big. And it could just be me, but the top of her head seems a little... small... I'd also work on adding more shading/shadows, especially on the lips, but overall as well.
On another note, good on ya for not skipping out on the forhead (I hear of lot of people tend to cut it out completely), and not giving her INTENSE GLARE EYES. I'm also rather fond of the hair/eyebrows.
