Hello in October

Gah, I suck at making interesting journal titles. And at updating this thing apparently. Last update was some time in August. That feels like forever ago. A lot of odd crap has happened since then.

I've long since settled into my new house and adapted to temperamental utilities that like to shut off without displaying the common courtesy to give me a warning. I've spoken to all the housemates- all five of them, and they are fine with me and my somewhat odd ways. I still hold down my job and its going fine, and somewhere among it all I find time to paint, so it's a pretty decent arrangement.

My problem, however, lies in my sleeping patterns which are, for lack of a better word, shot. I'm sat here at 3AM typing this all out and I'm not even tired. It feels like it's 11PM at the latest, but I just can't sleep any earlier than about 3:30 to 4AM. I don't wake until about midday and am usually summoned out by friends to do stuff in the city. I should be tired, but I'm not. I'm going to try and push myself to a more normal sleeping pattern, something like 1AM to wake at 7 or 8, But enough about sleep failure.

I started doing the 30 day monster girl challenge on my tumblr, and it's pretty fun. It's nice to have something of a brief to work to, even if it is as vague as 'Harpy', or 'Slime'. I'm not doing it as a solid 30 day thing though. I'm going to get through it, but I'm going to treat them as warm-ups, something to get the crap art out of myself before I start a proper piece (and hopefully get some valuable practice in both human and assorted animal anatomy in too.)

Got a bunch of pretty neat projects going too. I'm still doing bits for the pin-up x weapons set, being halfway through Applejack at the moment, but I keep getting inspired by other ideas, two of which I'm also doing at the moment (one being a nice piece of Chrysalis. the other TBA), and I'm also getting hankerings to go back and draw some of my older OC's. My pre-FiM watchers will know  who they are. I want to write about them again in the future, so they need a redesign.

As for interesting FiM projects, I've got a semi-solid idea for a game which I need to write a document for. I doubt I could make the game on my own, but if I can, I will, and if I can't, it'll at least be a cute, fun project to do a ton of art for.

I'm also making an R63'd Chrysalis cosplay. I've got an idea down for what I want to make, and have one of the parts already (a gorgeous set of 4 spiralled horns, the longest of which is 50cm long), and now have to figure out how to sew it all together when the time comes. I also may need to learn how to forge aluminium. Reason being, the horn is long and somewhat weighty, and I think I need to make some sort of socketed circlet to slot it in to. (It would also be a good place to put batteries. Ultimately, I want to have LED's in the horn and crown.)

So that's pretty much what's going on in the world of Tatter Terror/Feral/Craig/ whatever the hell I'm called now.
